Every October for the past several years, I have highlighted the Lakeshore Brew Fest in my blog. Well, this year is no exception!
A FUNDRAISER FOR ALL
I sincerely hope all of you will join me at this FUNdraiser on Saturday, October 8 at Camp Blodgett, located on beautiful Lake Michigan. The festival is being held from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., and this year’s event just might be the best one yet! It seems like every year gets better as the planning committee makes improvements over the previous year.
As I mentioned, Lakeshore Brew Fest is a FUNdraiser and the proceeds make it possible for kids in West Michigan to attend Camp Blodgett during the summer. The staff at Camp Blodgett is very passionate about their cause as you can tell from the following excerpt taken from the Lakeshore Brew Fest home page:
“Above all else, Lakeshore Brew Fest raises money to empower kids in West Michigan to dream BIG and live their best lives. Camp Blodgett is a home-away-from-home for hundreds of youth every summer, and because we never want family finances to stand in the way of a child going to summer camp, your support is crucial for growing our programs and impacting lives.”
I am lucky enough to live near Camp Blodgett and look forward to hearing the laughter from these children all summer long. I often see some of these kids throughout the summer along the shores of Lake Michigan, and I love to see the smiles on their faces as they are enjoying their week at camp. For that entire week, they are able to get away from their every day life situations. All week long, they learn team work, perseverance, hard work, and FUN! In fact, 89 percent of campers report that they had fun at Camp Blodgett, and last year, 84 percent of the children attended camp for $40 or less!
So, please help keep the fun going for the kids who attend this amazing summer camp. If you attend the Lakeshore Brew Fest, you will have plenty of fun yourself AND you will help children in our community have an experience they will remember for a very long time. I hope I will see you there with all your friends and family so they can learn about Camp Blodgett as well.
