We made it it through the Mother’s Day rush at Blueberry Haven, and we are continuing to stay busy with the many customers who have been stopping in to pick up some yummy treats for their child’s graduation parties or some unique gifts for the graduates. Of course, we are always happy to help our customers incorporate Blueberry Haven products into their parties, so stop in and let us set you up with everything you need for a successful graduation.
Here are a few examples of what some of our customers have purchased for the big event. Maybe these ideas will help you get your party started:
Cookies and salsa (not served together, of course)—A customer who loves our Oatmeal Blueberry Cookie Mix came in and purchased several mixes and will be serving these delicious cookies as a dessert at their graduation party. They also enjoy our Blueberry Salsa, so they bought plenty to serve with tortilla chips. We know both products will be a hit, and we hope some of the guests at the party will become blueberry lovers as well!
Key chains—One of our customers came in and bought multiple Blueberry Haven Key Chains as gifts for their favorite graduates. This is one gift we think every Michigan graduate will love, especially for those kids who will be heading to out-of-state colleges. They can show their roommate exactly where we live in Michigan by pointing to the bright red dot on the key chain that shows the location of Grand Haven!
Candles—A college student who just returned home for the summer stopped in and picked up some Blueberry Haven Candles for her friends who are graduating from high school in a few weeks. Our candles are perfect for dorm rooms to help get rid of that “unique” smell. There’s nothing better than the smell of a fresh baked blueberry pie or blueberry muffins to freshen up a college dorm room!
So, as you contemplate what you should serve at your graduation party or what you might give as a graduation gift for someone special, come to Blueberry Haven for some locally-made products that are sure to please every graduate. Many kids never realize how much they miss home until they leave, so give them something that will remind them of the fantastic place they get to call home!
I am busy getting my middle son ready to walk across the stage and then off to school on the East Coast in the fall. I will smile knowing that he is beginning a new adventure—one that he chose on his own. It will be fun to see what he accomplishes, and I can breathe easy knowing that he is taking his Midwest roots with him across the country. I bet he will show his new friends and professors a thing or two about how we do things in the Mitten State.
We will also be sending off a few of our Blueberry Haven employees in the fall as they begin their own college adventures. Two of them won’t be cheering, “Go Blue” as they leave; instead, they will be shouting, “Go Green!” And, one of our college-bound students will be heading to the other side of the big lake to attend school in Chicago.
Wherever the graduates land, I wish them all luck as they say goodbye to high school and begin their new adventures in the fall.
