It seems as though the holiday season is thrust upon us earlier each year. Halloween is barely over, and for the past several weeks, I have noticed that commercial America is casting Christmas upon us already—ready or not!
We are still several weeks from Thanksgiving, and the Christmas music stations are streaming “It’s a White Christmas” and all the other holiday favorites all day, every day. Well, you will be relieved to know that I don’t allow Christmas music to be played until the day after Thanksgiving at Blueberry Haven.
Now, don’t get me wrong—I am all for getting my shopping done early and being organized. However, I do not believe in rushing the seasons, barely finding time to enjoy the current holiday. Unfortunately, in the retail business, the one huge drawback is always feeling like you are pushing the next season well before the holiday has even begun.
My goal this year is to help make your holiday season more enjoyable and less stressful. At Blueberry Haven, we have an email list of customers who have either signed up on the list in our store or purchased products from us in the past. I admit that I haven’t always been consistent in sending out information to our customers about special discounts, gift ideas, or new products. I have been guilty of letting that part of my job fall through the cracks, and I haven’t been promoting or marketing Blueberry Haven to all of you—my special customers!
Well, I am hoping to fix that! We now have a marketing project manager who you will be seeing from time to time in the store. She will be doing her best to keep us all on task, and, yes, keep me organized in the marketing and promotions area.
