Happy New Year Blueberry Haven Friends and Followers!
How crazy is it that the year is 2020?
I don’t feel like Jane Jetson yet, and I surely don’t have a robot for a helper in my home. Well, that’s not totally true. I am a fan of the IRobot Roomba vacuum. When you have pets, it truly is a lifesaver. Over the holidays, I was lucky enough to keep my sister’s black Lab. I’m not so sure Mr. Kitty liked it, but he tolerated him. And, I got my dog fix. However, add a dog with the cat and all the boys home from college, that Roomba from our local Best Buy was a great addition.
Now that 2019 is done, a group of women and I are doing the Whole 30 plan. Yeah, what did I get myself into? But I’m giving it a go-to see how my willpower is. Basically we eat only whole foods, nothing processed, just meat, veggies, fruits, eggs, some spices, and a few fats- but like the good ones and not my favorite cheese. Also, no alcohol is allowed. Bubbly and LaCroix are my drinks of choice these days. We’re a few weeks in, and I’m still going strong. It really has been delicious so far, like this recipe I’m whipping up for tonight’s dinner:
Whole 30 Friendly Spicy Chicken and Cauliflower
1 pkg chicken breast tenderloins
1 TBSP minced garlic
Olive oil- spray
1 jalapeno pepper
4 tomatoes sliced
1 head of cauliflower
10 green olives sliced
Brush the chicken breast tenderloins with a little olive oil. Top with dabs of garlic and sliced jalapenos. Broil 15 minutes. Remove from oven and add the sliced tomatoes, broken up cauliflower pieces, sliced green olives, oregano, and cracked pepper. Broil all again for about 15-20 minutes. Then, bake at 300 degrees for about 30 minutes.
I had one home project that I finished and just picked up: pillows!
I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. Now that the boys are gone, and the dog doesn’t get on the chairs anymore, well unless Cruz (my sister’s lab) is making himself at home, it made perfect sense to get the chairs recovered. One of my favorite fabric manufacturers is John Robshaw. I found a block print in fabulous colors, with of course lots of blue. I have had tons of luck on the website fabricguru.com
